Young America’s Foundation broadened
its promotion of conservative ideas
when it expanded the campus lecture
program. Before the Foundation grew
our breakthrough lecture program, other
organizations focused on sponsoring
conservative professors and intellectuals.
These individuals espoused conservative
ideas as sincerely as anyone, but they were
not reaching sufficient numbers of students
to have a significant impact. The Foundation
introduced the idea of using conservative
speakers with national reputations as a
means to ensure a large audience. These
are speakers that students, the local
community, and even professors want to
hear. They are policy makers, celebrities,
writers, newsmakers, and more—rather than
obscure professors. The large audiences
these speakers generate show the campus
communities that students are eager to hear
conservative ideas.
The list in the right hand column includes those who have
spoken for Young America’s Foundation over
the course of nearly four decades. The included title is the speaker’s title at the time of their
last Foundation speech.
